October 5, 2022 – A perfect day at CocoCay

Written by Kim

Today we went to RCCL’s private island, Little Stirrup Key or more popularly known as CocoCay in the Bahamas. Over the last several years RCCL has pumped quite a bit of money into this island and it is one of our favorite stops. We always go to South Beach which is a little quieter than other parts of the island. This trip we rented a cabana so we could have some shade for the moms and bar / food service

Leticia suggested we get off the ship as soon as we docked at 9 am. She escorted us through the crew quarters to the aft gangway ahead of all other guests and we were the first ones off the ship. We took the tram right to South Beach and checked in with Jonny, the cabana manager to get our cabana. Sheryl was our cabana attendant and took great care of us with drinks and lunch.

We all went in the water and Alex and I enjoyed drinks at the floating bar. The first time we got to the swim up bar the bartender said I know you two. She was the bartender from a previous cruise in February. She even knew our drinks. Is that bad or are we just memorable in the thousands of passengers she has served since February?

Dinner was Izumi hibachi. It was very good. After dinner we sat and listening to some music before heading to adult comedy. The 2 comedians were pretty funny and we had some good laughs.

I went to Love & Marriage for a few more laughs before calling it a night. It’s the same questions all the time but the couple’s responses are sometimes hysterical. The best one tonight was when they asked “What is your husband’s favorite condiment?” The newlywed guy quickly responded “Magnum”. The theater was roaring.

Good night from our bear…
