Sea day 3 of 5 between Tahiti and New Zealand and we suddenly are feeling the cruise end getting nearer. That seems odd with 7 days remaining, but when you’ve been cruising for 22 days already, 7 days seems like nothing!
This morning the weather was beautiful – we are beginning to feel the cooler air as we move further south toward New Zealand and farther away from the equator. It’s been in the 65F/18C range the last day or two. So out for a walk we went early!
After our walk and breakfast it was back to Progressive Trivia. We aren’t doing particularly well, but we laugh each day with our Aussie teammates. We made a guess on the Bonus question (how many countries have hosted the modern summer Olympics) and failed on it so it cost us 10 points. The answer is below in case you want to take a shot at it.
After lunch Kim went to a talent show in Two70 while I played in the casino (I won a few $!!). Then we came back to the cabin for a bit and watched Captain Henrik give his weather update on the TV. We’ve never seen any captain do this before. We then headed out to the lounge (shocking!). We had dinner plans at Jamie’s, but Kim heard the show was a Freddie Mercury song performer so we changed Jamie’s to tomorrow so we could go see the show. The guy was actually pretty good, but he was goofy too which we both agreed wasn’t necessary. His voice and piano playing was sufficient for him to perform, he should put the shtick aside.
After the show we did the casino again since it hasn’t been too bad the past few days. Kim played some 3-cars poker with me and she had a slew of winning hands. No big bonuses but we wound up winning between us. Then we each played a slot and won a little more! Casino profits are always nice!
At the cabin we received a new towel “animal”. At least we think it’s an animal. Any ideas on what it is?? Leave a comment below or on Facebook if you have a guess. We will ask Ronnie tomorrow and find out.
Until tomorrow – g’night mates!
Trivia answer: 19 countries have hosted the summer Olympics. We guessed 15.
