On Friday we will start our USA road trip. Our goal is for both of us to complete seeing all 50 states before returning home. I need to see 15 states and Alex needs to see 13 but of course they are not the same and we will pass through several states we’ve already seen but basically it’s the middle of the country.
We expect that our routine will be to get up in the morning and drive to our next planned stop and determine if we will just stay the night or extend if there is more to see. We will try to take more local highways than freeways so we are not just seeing miles of interstates. We’ve watched some bloggers to get thoughts about some stops. We bought our National Park pass. We’ve joined a few quirky FB groups and watched Diners, Drive Ins and Dives to get ideas. Now we just need to pack and pick up our rental car for the adventure to begin. I must say I’m excited yet stressed trying to figure out how to pack.
I will blog along the way (and keep a spreadsheet with some stats). Let us know if there are any must sees along our route that you recommend or if you want to know anything as we travel that I can include each day.
Until then….
Corn palace in Mitchell SD is a quirky stop.
Thanks!
I second this!
Never been there but Mitchell should be on your list 😜
Safe travels and drive safely!!!
If you’re able to squeeze in Glacier National Park in northern Montana, I don’t think you’d be disappointed!
Wow 🤯 You guys are awesome! Bryce Canyon is my absolute favorite! Are you going to the staple parks? Yellowstone, Yosemite, Mt. Rushmore, Red Wood, Oregon Coast, etc? If you’re passing through Vegas, Valley of Fire is amazing. Enjoy and safe travels!
Yes we are doing Bryce, Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore. Were not going all the way to Oregon coast and have already seen Valley of Fire which I agree was amazing.
