I think I speak for Kim also when I say we are ready for some land. It’s not as though we are having a bad time (we aren’t) but I will say that this length cruise is about as long as I’d ever tackle again. Maybe three weeks max. We love to cruise but we like to hit land and go too!!
The weather outside today was not too nice and the seas were a bit angry. The ship rocked but nothing too terrible. We never felt the effects of it other than an occasional side step while walking.
So no outside track today – so it was up to the gym. After breakfast we had our final round (10) of Progressive Trivia. Out of 78 teams we finished in 45th. Not great. But we did enjoy it anyway!
In the afternoon we watched a program in Two70 about the history of Royal Caribbean, and then Kim went and took a snooze while I played in the casino.
Met up with Tony/Wendy and Ian/Debbie in the lounge for more stories and laughs. Then dinner in the MDR with our great wait staff Geronimo and Normandy. We both had the baby back ribs and I have to admit – they were pretty damn good! Fell off the bone!
After dinner Kim caught the rest of the headliner in the theater while I took one more shot at the casino and finally won $220 on a straight flush playing 3-card poker. About time!
The last show of the night was the Dancing with the Stripes show which is modeled after Dancing with the Stars but pairs a ship officer with a passenger. They had no practice so it was all just about being goofy and having fun. The people and officers really got into it and we laughed. Good show!
Upon return to our cabin we found our “crossing the equator” certificates. Pretty nice actually – I didn’t know they did this.
Tomorrow it’s LAND – Wellington, New Zealand. Electric bike tour planned but it’s supposed to be cool, showery and windy. Yikes!! 😳
