The last day of a cruise is always bittersweet. We had a fantastic time and made so many new friends but time to pull out the suitcases and say our goodbyes. We had breakfast in the main dining room and I finally tried eggs Florentine which were yummy. We went to a talk about the technology in 270. What a venue with robotic screens, all kinds of raising stages and acrobatic drops. It cost RCCL $42 million just for this big living room style venue at the aft of the ship. It’s just amazing. We had Australian border clearing then headed to our last lunch in the Solarium with our new friends. We had such an amazing time sharing stories and laughs with Tony & Wendy from Perth and Ian & Deb from Ballina / New Castle. In 2 weeks we will stop by Ian and Deb’s house when we come back down the coast.
After lunch we caught the boat competition at the pool before heading to the cabin to pack. The guests can use anything on the ship to make their vessel to sail in the pool. Some were very creative. I think Alex may enter in a future cruise as his engineer juices were flowing. Packing brought some challenges as we are restricted on weight of different bags on our domestic flight tomorrow. We borrowed a scale from Tony but it broke partway through the packing. We hope we’re ok or I will be wearing multiple outfits when we get to the airport. Lol.
Off to the lounge we went for lots of goodbyes and selfies.
More goodbyes at dinner with Geronimo and a Normandy. Did a little Macarena with them to celebrate.
After dinner we went to camp out and get seats in 270 for an encore performance of the Australian InXS cover band. They were excellent. What energy. Some Australian songs we didn’t know but many songs we did know.
It has been an awesome 29 nights on this gorgeous ship. It’s almost surreal to think we’ve been on it for so long. We are so fortunate and blessed to take this amazing journey. We hope you continue to join us on our next leg on land in Australia. Tomorrow when we get off the ship we immediately fly up to Cairns (the Great Barrier Reef) will hire a car and drive back down the coast to Sydney. After talking to so many Aussies we are really excited about all we can experience in their beautiful country. Until tomorrow.
Looks like a tremendous trip so far Kim!
