Nov 2025 – Remembrance / Veterans Day on Anthem

Written by Kim

We had a quiet day at sea yesterday. It was kind of cool only about 60 so we didn’t go to the pool like we usually will do on a sea day. We relaxed a bit and went to the top tier event in the morning.

Many of our friends think we cruise a lot but some of these people cruise way more than we ever will. We are Diamond Plus with Royal and probably will never make the next tier, Pinnacle, because you need 700 points! We love to cruise but love other travel too. We are getting closer to the next sub tier D+ with 340 points which brings some additional benefits. The biggest Royalty benefit we use is 5 free drinks a day each. That pretty much covers our bar bill.

We’re part of the 157

There was a woman recognized for making Pinnacle on this cruise with only 37 cruises which had to be longer cruises mostly in suites because that’s an average of 19 points per cruise and you get 1 point per night (2 in a suite). Wow! There was also a couple who had 1640 points!

Most points on our cruise

The Australians are very serious about Remembrance Day. They gave out poppies (I forgot to get a picture) and just about everyone wore one. They had a beautiful service recognizing Veterans. I got this beautiful picture of the Opera House from my feed – we weren’t there but I thought it was beautiful. Thank you to all our Veterans for your service !

Trivia has been a bit of a challenge for us. We went to General trivia in the morning but it turned out to be all Australian so we bailed and tried another unlawful trivia. That one was crazy asking questions like – is it illegal for a man to wear a skirt in Italy? Yes it is. We had a few good laughs. Before dinner we did science trivia and scored ok but didn’t win. Next we tried logo trivia. We teamed up with 2 Aussie newlyweds, Ben and Courtney. We won 1st place getting 19 out of 24 logos and won a pen. Wow!

Dinner was at Izumi. We had a few apps and some rolls. All was delicious

My rolls – Champagne lobster roll top; shrimp tempura roll
Alex’s rolls – crispy spicy tuna & baked snow crab & dynamite

Tonight’s entertainment was some dumb game show Blankety Blank which we left partly through and adult comedy, Al De Bene, an American from Boston living in Sydney. He was pretty funny.

Until then…,
