Many of you ask why we own a house because we travel often. Well….in 2024 I started keeping track of where we sleep so I would have some stats. I’m happy to report that we were home 60% of the time this year which was a slight improvement to 2024. 🤪😂
We did take a few trips. In January we did our usual pilgrimage to Florida but cut it a bit short because Alex was having pain in his hand so couldn’t golf. He never figured out what was wrong and after a few days rest the pain disappeared – stinks getting old! In March, we went to Vegas to see Billy Joel which I was so thankful we did since he’s not touring anymore. Over the Fourth of July we had a few days in Key West for our anniversary and my birthday. Many of you know we spent November in Australia and New Zealand. Since we’ve retired we’ve kind of settled into a routine of Florida in January and a big trip in the fall. We’re beginning to think about our big trip next year. Our list is long of places we’d like to see. Scandinavia may be next up but we’re not sure.
We have a good amount of family time too – more than half of our days away were visiting FL, NJ, PA, or TN. With 7 grand babies we put lots of miles on the Audi – they grow too fast so we don’t want to miss any development stages. 3 of our babies turned 1 this year and our oldest 2 will be 5 in March. Busy times. We were lucky enough that our 2 youngest boys, Ryan and Stephen, both visited us in SC (at different times) and both of our moms spent some time in SC too!
We always say we have to go while we can. Tomorrow is not promised and we know the day will come when we are not able so….2026 we will be on the go again! Let’s go!
