MSC Seashore – Cozumel & around the ship

Written by Kim

Our MDR waiters, Shandu, Darfrankline, and us

We decided to try a new all inclusive for a day pass in Cozumel, Del Mar Latino is a 5 minute walk from the one cruise port but we were docked at Punta Langosta so needed to take a short cab ride. We paid $20 to get to the resort but only $10 to get back. We hate how taxis rip you off. The cost for the day pass was cheap, $45 per person.

The resort was small and simple. There was a small pool, no beach but access to the ocean via stairs, nice cushioned loungers some with shade and others with sun and umbrellas, good food and drinks.

We were the first ones there

This is a good value day pass. If you are docked where Royal was you just walk to it. It’s quiet, service is good, bathrooms are clean, not a mob scene because only 20-30 guests, and all the drinks and food you want. We are going again next week on our other cruise.

Our last sea day was rainy and cool so we didn’t go to the pool.

Lego statues in the kids area. I forgot to get a picture of the great kids water park, Pirates Cove. It was a big ship with water cannons and slides. The kids were enjoying it

The had a Dance with the Officers party in the atrium. The Captain, Marco, is the youngest Captain in the MSC fleet at 39. He had his family on board and you could see him beaming holding his daughter at the dance party while dancing. He was quite a hoot – much more personable than many if the more stoic Scandinavian captains we’ve seen on other ships.

The last production show was very good. Our cruise director, Neil Dixon, was excellent. He is a Brit who grew up in theater as a singer and master of ceremonies. He was very friendly encouraging you to interact with him and the staff around the ship.

Our last dinner was Italian night (no surprise with an Italian company). The dining room was decked out with red, white and green linens and all the waiters also wore those colors. The food was very good but chicken could have used more sauce. It was very juicy though

We disembarked using the walk off program because we need to drive from Port Canaveral ti Ft Lauderdale to catch a flight to Philly. It was seamless. We were in our car exiting the garage at 7:30.

We have a short one day break from vacation, we are going to Philly for Alex’s 2 grandsons birthday party tomorrow, Liam turned 1 in late November and Brady turn 4 early Feb so they are having a joint party. We fly up today and back to Florida tomorrow for our next cruise on RCCL Independence on Sunday, I will post a review of our MSC Seashore experience but in summary we really enjoyed it!
