The ship is pretty full with lots of kids so we spent the first day st sea in the Solarium pool. We always called this the morgue pool with lots of Os and Qs because everyone is usually sleeping in there. Years ago we vowed we would never go there but age has set in and we can’t take the crazy as much.

We didn’t plan any beach or tour in Falmouth. It was a cloudy windy day so we just got off the ship and walked around in port a bit

We usually watch where the crew goes in port and saw them all getting patties si gave it a try. A good snack for $4 a Pattie and $4 a Red Stripe.

We went to the main dining room for formal night because I wanted my escargot and they don’t have it every night. There was a bit of controversy because normally they have filet on formal night but they recently discontinued it. In the Royal App tenderloin was the recommendation for dinner, on the menu they recommended Steak Au Poivre but they didn’t have either they had Beef Bourguignon. It didn’t matter to us because we had chicken cordon blue.

Our next port was Grand Cayman. I don’t think we’ve been here in 20 years. Our plan was to get off the ship and get a taxi to 7 mile beach. The ship uses tenders to get to port which can be a major pain in the butt so we prepared for some waiting but it was very smooth. We left the ship around 9 am. We went to get a ticket for the tender and they told us to just go down and board. Within about 10 minutes we were on the island. The tender process is a well oiled machine since they do it all the time in Grand Cayman

We caught a shuttle for $12 round trip per person to the beach. We were the last 2 in the shuttle on the jump seats. Oh my! What a ride. When we arrived there was someone right at the shuttle selling 2 chair, 1 umbrella rental for $25. We got our chairs and walked over to the beach through all the food vendors setting up their bbq and crafts for the day. The beach was packed. It was beautiful but way too crowded. We made the best of it in the crystal clear beautiful water as we thought about many of our friends and family preparing for a snowstorm we realized how grateful we should be, Not many pictures because it was too nuts,

Got a few pics from the tender returning to ship.

I really love the entertainment on Royal. Tonight I went to the ice show after dinner in Izumi, the sushi place, it was great to see a new show as I’ve seen the ice show on other ships several times. It amazes me how these skaters perform on a moving ship.

Tomorrow we are in Cozumel, our last port. Until then…
