We spent 3 1/2 days at sea before getting to our first port, St Martin. Once we hit land we have 7 consecutive port days so we are relaxing until then. Leaving NJ in March the first 2 days are chilly and the seas are a bit rough with 8-12 foot waves so we stayed inside except to walk the track on the first day. We bundled up because it was only about 40 and windy but it felt good to be out walking the deck which you know is a favorite of mine,

We joined the top tier loyalty event that was packed because the ship has 80% loyalty members. We are diamond plus with 309 points but just babies compared to many on board. There are 231 pinnacles which are those who have 700 points. There are more pinnacles then kids on this ship (more rollators & scooters then strollers). There is a couple that reached pinnacle in 4 years! Wow that’s a lot of cruising. The person with the highest number of points had 4,500 points but has been sailing for 37 years (121 days or 33% of the year at sea every year – well unless they normally do suites that give you double points). Still impressive so no comments about our travel. We travel a total of 40% a year.

I love Royal Caribbean because of their shows and other entertainment. We did lots of trivia one of the sea days. We didn’t win any key chains (yet!) but did ok for just the 2 of us. We enjoyed a new show, the Effectors, which is a production show with singers and dancers and lots of high tech special effects including drones that come out over the audience. It was fantastic I thought.

One of the nights there was an Elvis impersonator, Travis LeDoyt. He was good but Elvis is not a favorite of mine.

There also was a magician / comedian, Chad Chesmark. You’ll have to ask Patty or Tony how he was because I slept though his show but luckily didn’t snore 😴

Our dinner in the dining room have been hit or miss. The first night with chicken cordon bleu was good but the fish and chips were awful. Here’s a few pics for my food porn lovers.

Asian night was good too.

We enjoyed a night of fun at Chops, the steak house. Food was good but service wasn’t great. The servers had too many tables and were running around which stressed me out.

Our towel animals were interesting.

We did have one pool day – more ship pictures on our way home.

Next stop – St Martin
