Our shuttle picked us up at 10 am to head to the ship. The lines were long and it was a bit chaotic at Fort Lauderdale port. Evidently some passengers from the arriving cruise didn’t depart so we had to wait for the counts to clear before they started boarding. We were on board about noon which wasn’t horrible. Dee had developed a plan for us to arrange our speciality dining right away so we could get the nights and restaurants we wanted so Alex and I went to Izumi to book prior to going up to the Lime & Coconut on the pool deck for a drink.
We meandered around the ship checking things out. It’s an Oasis class ship like Allure and Oasis which we’ve been on a few times so very familiar but some nice updates like changes to seating on the pool deck. We will see if more deck chairs onare available.
We grabbed lunch at Park cafe which is very convenient because our cabin, 8576, is only around the corner on the same deck.
We went back up to the pool deck for sailaway with our friends. It was a late sailaway. We left port around 6:20
We ate dinner in the main dining room and once again I didn’t get pictures of everything. Lol. Oh well I’ll try my best but I’m not good at remembering foodie pics.
Now we’re off to 9 days at sea crossing the Atlantic. They cancelled our stop day 2 at Nassau which didn’t matter to me. As many of you know my dad was killed in a boating accident in Nassau so I rarely get off the ship there because it’s a tough port for me. We’ve never done 9 days at sea but look forward to relaxing, walking, eating, drinking and enjoying our time with friends.
I will post again in a few days when I have some content. Internet is pretty good on the ship so hopefully will remain that way. Until then…..
May the seas be calm, your drinks cold and your happy experiences plentiful.
