Day 27 – Crossing the dateline tonight (10/13/19)

Written by Kim

A quiet day at sea enjoying some comforts from home. Our ice tea set-up is working well and another batch of laundry brings some normalcy. We were up early because the wind (46 knots!) was wicked this morning so had to go to the gym and we like to get there before it’s crowded. I got my 10,000 before 9 am – yeah! Need to offset the daily happy hour. Played trivia this morning and luckily we got the bonus question so our score wasn’t awful but only 16. At lunch in the main dining room we chatted with a nice Australian couple who confirmed that we have a good itinerary to see lots when we arrive in Australia. After lunch it was time for a nap.

Our ice tea set-up. Even the room steward supervisor loves it.
Love our huge balcony – perfect for laundry

Played a bit in the casino and actually won a bit which is always good. Alex taught me how to play 3 card poker so now we can play together. Went to the lounge and met another couple from NJ tonight. Evidently Alex met the woman previously in the casino but she wears a wig when she gets all dressed up so he didn’t recognize her. I recognized her by her nails tonight in the casino. Lol. Had some laughs with Tony and Wendy after going to the early show with them. Show was ok. A old school magician who was very good and an impressionist who was just ok. Dinner was at Jaimes – yummy- our 4th and last time eating there this cruise.

We had wine on the balcony before coming inside to watch the NY news so we could enjoy Columbus Day, October 14. Alex brought a HDMI cord and remote to hook up the tv to his phone so we can stream shows from the internet (he’s so clever). We looked in the ocean for the blue line that designates the dateline like you see on the globe but we couldn’t find it. Lol. Tonight at midnight the date/clock moves from Sunday to Tuesday. No Monday, October 14 or us this week. Our towel animal from Ronnie tonight was a lobster (we think)
