We flew to Cancun from Newark but had a bit of a delay. We parked in a new long term spot. It’s in a dicey looking neighborhood but gets great reviews and we see why. We found it at www.Newark long termparking.com. You reserve online get a QR code to enter and self park. There is an attendant in case you have issues. The bus arrived right as we were taking the bags out of our car and we were at the airport terminal in less than 5 minutes. It was 5:20 am so very little traffic but super quick.
Our flight was scheduled to board at 7:20 so we took some time for an expensive airport breakfast. Cost us $70 for eggs and coffee. Ugh. Whatever we were hungry and good thing we ate because we boarded our flight and sat at the gate a bit before we were told the plane couldn’t fly for safety reason so had to get off. Luckily we were in Newark on United so we only waited an hour or so before another 737 came to get us. We boarded the next plane which was the same as the first so no seat changes, etc which made it easier. Our flight was smooth. Alex had a 1 year old next to him but she was a gem only fussing a bit but sleeping part of the flight. Her parents were concerned because they timed her feedings with the first flight but that planning was destroyed with the delays. We waited about an hour for our bags in Cancun and we’re anxious to get to the resort after a long day of traveling.
We arrived at Le Blanc at about 5 pm. It is a gorgeous resort. Our friends, Marie & Scott, are Diamond members here so we got special treatment as their guests. We checked in and relaxed a bit with a drink in our room before dinner. They asked what liquor we wanted in our room so Alex got some Woodford Reserve and I got Tito’s.
The room is beautiful. All tile floors and everything is cream or white – Le Blanc. Lol. The lights are funky and it took me a while to figure out how they work.
Our view from the room is the pool and lagoon
We met Marie & Scott and Laurie & Mike for dinner at the Italian restaurant. I forgot to take pictures but will try to remember next time. Service is the restaurant was pretty slow but we enjoyed catching up with our friends. After dinner we went to the club and Alex played pool with the others.
It was a long day and the guys golf tomorrow so we didn’t stay out too late. There were nice chocolates waiting for us at turndown.
Until next time. We are here 5 nights so I’ll post again in a few days. Good night friends…
