One of the highlights of our January trips to Florida is seeing some long time friends who live in the area. I’ve known Liz for over 30 years – heck I told Heather this morning that Liz planned my baby shower for her at Roche. We enjoy spending time with Liz and Bruce and had a fantastic day of golf on their home course, PGA National Palmer course.
What a fabulous course, 75 degrees and sunny, tons of laughs and hours to catch up with great friends = priceless. I wish we lived closer to each other but have to cherish the limited time we get together. I got one par (even over water!!!!) and a few bogies. The other holes were a mess but Liz got a bunch of “double birdies” who even knows what they are because she was only putting due to an injury. What a hoot!
We decided to try some trivia – heck it’s Tuesday and that’s what we do at home. It was the same format as our trivia at home and we thought a bit easier except for the halftime and final questions. The halftime question was name 4 of the 5 SNL actors who played in skit “more cowbell” in April 2008. We got 1 of the 4. The final is always a ranking question which is difficult. It was rank north to south the following countries: Nepal, Turkey, Kahzistan, and Yemen. We knew Yemen was furthest south but got the north most wrong. Evidently, most teams bet their whole 15 points and got it wrong too so we held 2nd place. Wahoo – cash for Team Pork Roll. I’ll go back when we get back from cruise for lunch one day.
Looking forward to a few lazy beach days. The weather is gorgeous. Last year we were freezing but the sun is shining brightly this year. Until next post…..
