January 2025 – Bouncing around South Florida – Singer Island, Hard Rock & Formy Irish Open

After getting off the cruise we drove north from Miami to Singer Island to spend a few days in an AirBnb with Stephen, Bethany & the 3 kids. First stop was Publix to get snacks and other groceries. Love this Publix with parking on the 2nd level and an escalator for carts

We rented a nice condo a block from the beach.

The kids were so much fun.

After a few days in Singer Island we made our way to Hard Rock Hollywood. We enjoy staying here but got a little beat up in the casino. Luckily I hit one big hand to soften the damage a bit. We don’t bring more than we are willing to spend on entertainment but it’s certainly more fun when we win. We had fun at this beautiful property for a few days then headed off to the practice golf round for the Formy Open at Nash Palm Beach. Our weather was cold and rainy – ugh! But Jose still came around the course with rum shots when we played.

We look forward to seeing our NJ golf friends in Palm Beach Gardens every January, Alex enjoys the golf with the boys and I get to see some long time friends who live in the area. Happy hour (and parties at the pool) at the Embassy always create many fun memories.

Unfortunately, our time at the Formy Irish Open was cut short because Alex hurt his hand and couldn’t hold a club to golf. He must have pulled a ligament in his thumb and was in a lot of pain so he shut it down and we left early. We were both disappointed because I had plans to meet my friend, Liz again and Alex enjoys time with the gang, We also had time planned to meet a few other friends so will need to find time again to see them.

We did get home to see the snow that fell a few days ago. We got about 5 inches of snow. The roads are clear but there’s still snow in the shady areas and on the grass.

Well…we need to roll with the punches which is why we travel when we can. We know that we will have health challenges or injuries that may change our plans. We are happy to be home and enjoy the simpl3 things like a fruit salad at our favorite breakfast place.

Now it’s laundry and food shopping while we’re home for 10 days or so before heading to NJ. Until then……
