Well….today was not our most exciting day but got us another state – Arkansas. Now Alex is down to 1 and I have 2. We’re really coming down the homestretch. We didn’t really have anything planned for today so Alex suggested a small detour to see Branson on our way. our drive from Joplin to Branson was about 2 hours. Driving through Missouri was interesting as many of their roads are labeled with letters rather than numbers
I remember my grandmother talking about Branson as she loved it here. She loved going to shows and took a few bus trips here over the years.
We just walked around town a bit. I did finally find moccasins I liked but they were overpriced so I will buy them direct from the company online. There were cute ones for the babies too but I resisted since they were pricey and how many times could they were them.
We had a nice Mexican lunch overlooking the White River at Branson Landing
After lunch we continued on our way to Little Rock. Did you know that Little Rock got its name from a rock formation along the river, named the “Little Rock” by the French explorer Jean-Baptiste Bénard de la Harpe in 1722. We decided to take a walk down to the River Market. The River Market District is a city park and network of walkways along the banks of the Arkansas River downtown. It is lined by bars, shops, restaurants, nature, public artwork, and the five historic missions, the River Market is an important part of the city’s urban fabric and a tourist attraction. It was pretty dead despite it being a Friday night. I guess everyone was at Friday night football games.
Not too much was happening so we stopped in an Irish Pub to get something to eat and called it a night. Tomorrow we head to Tupelo, Mississippi (yes did you just sing the song to spell it like I did 🎶 🎵). Until then….
Keep it moving. 😆 🤣 😂 😹 Lol
