We parked at Park N Go at 11 and we’re on the ship around 11:30.
Celebrity is nice that you can go directly to your cabin, drop off your carryon and put stuff in the safe and begin to explore. We booked a Concierge Class room which included a nice lunch in the main dining room. After lunch we headed up to the pool deck to watch the Solar Eclipse prior to sailaway.
Our friends, Dee & John, were planning to come with us but had to cancel due to a medical issue so we brought them along Flat Stanley style. Alex was delighted there was a hole-in-one putting game at the sailaway party.
Dinner our first night was in the main dining room. Food and service were excellent (much better than RCCL). We hope this continues
After dinner we watched the UConn vs Purdue NCAA Championship. We were routing for Purdue which we knew was a long shot but Alex had them in a pool. Oh well UConn is just unbeatable. I wanted to get a few extra steps to meet my goal so we went up to the pool deck to walk the track (yes in my dress shoes after a few drinks). The pool deck was closed so we ended up in the club dancing the night away till the wee hours. There were some crazy characters but we had fun and I met my step goal before midnight (as a bonus I got 1,500 steps toward my new days goal before bed!)
Day 2 was a sea day. It was very windy but we sat out on the pool deck after walking in the morning. During the afternoon we did some exploring. We were on this ship back in 2013 but don’t remember it too well (we did have the drink package that cruise 😂🤪).
Dinner was at Tuscan Grill, the Italian restaurant. Food was very good here also.
The production show, Cosmopolitan, was very good. Singing, dancing, some acrobatics. The girls went to the show while the guys played at the casino (with Dee & John).
Day 3 is another sea day. Our first port will be St Maarten. Until then….
