January 2024 – A Sea Day & CocoCay on Liberty

Written by Kim

Our sea day wasn’t very nice weather. We got out to the pool early to get chairs and it wasn’t too crazy. We took turns getting breakfast so one of us stayed on the chairs because we detest people who plop their stuff on chairs to hold them and then disappear. We only lasted a bit by the pool before the rain came that chased us inside. We decided to go to Chops for lunch and play a bit in the casino. Our cruise was free through the casino so Alex is expected to play a bit. I started out with $60 playing slots, added $100 along the way and cashed out for $320 so I was very happy. I didn’t have any big hits but a bunch of $80 – $100 ones that let me play all 4 days and double my money. Alex did ok too and won a few hundred so we brought home all the money we brought plus some and have gambling money the rest of our trip.

I do love the entertainment on RCCL. I enjoyed the parade on the promenade and helped this little girl who was with her grandparents to score the best spot for the parade.

I also enjoyed the production show “In the Air”. The singers, dancers and aerialists were amazing.

The Quesr is always a lot of fun, We will never forget the time Alex’s dad pulled out his false teeth for a quest and he and Ryan took off their pants and put them on inside out. Good thing Alex’s mom chose not to go to the show that night. Great memories – thought of dad a lot dur8ng the Quest

Our last port was Coco Cay. We decided to walk on the ship before getting off to go to the beach. We love walking on the walking deck of a ship it’s so peaceful.

Whoever calculated the laps didn’t do it correctly – it was more like 6.5 laps for a mile

We had breakfast in the Windjammer buffet and Washy Washy girl was hysterical

Our trip to CocoCay was a bust. Allure was in port with us so there were more than 9,000 passengers on the 2 ships so it was insanely crowded. We took the tram out to South Beach which usually is quiet but we couldn’t find chairs so walked back to the ship which was very quiet on the pool deck.

Our last dinner was in Sabor, the Mexican place. It was very good but too much food.

Alex’s chicken burrito
My carne asada burrito
Rice and beans and yucca fries

Our room steward, Satya left us lots of towel animals

Mouse

Disembarkation was a little crazier than Virgin but we were off the ship and in our car in about 20 minutes.

Goodbye Liberty

Next we’re headed to Singer Island for a few nights. We rented an Airbnb and Stephen, Bethany, Luke and Greyson will join us for a few days. Our cottage isn’t ready till this afternoon so we decided to take a walk on the Broadwalk at Hollywood Beach and relax on the beach until it’s ready.
