January 2024 – Adventures at Singer Island

Written by Kim

Normally I don’t post about family time on our blog but this post will include my son, Stephen, his wife, Bethany, and their 2 boys, Luke and Greyson who joined us for a few days at our Airbnb in Singer Island. We like to stay close to the beach and normally find a rental on Bamboo Avenue about a block from the beach and restaurants. It was so much fun to have the kids with us for a few days.

Our weather was pretty cool so not really beach weather. Our first night we went to dinner at Johnny Longboats. The boys were so good at dinner. Greyson sure loves to eat and is happy to sit in the high chair because that means chow. Luke loved his chicken fingers and fruit.

We went to Palm Beach Zoo. It’s a great zoo for kids this age. Lots of animals, lions, tigers, monkeys, koalas, tons of birds, turtles, flamingoes, etc. We all had fun seeing the animals

The biggest hits at the zoo were the bubble toy and running in the sprinklers. Luke loves anything with water

Greyson got a ride from daddy so Luke could ride in the stroller a bit

Our second day we took a trip to Lion Country Safari which is a drive through safari on 600 acres in Palm Beach County. There are 6 neighborhoods with animals in the 4 mile drive through safari. There is an audio guide which tells you about the animals in each area. It was a fun day.

In addition to the safari, there was a park with more animals, a petting zoo and some rides.

The train ride was a big hit

There was plenty of time for just playing and relaxing and Nana snuggles.

Luke wanted no part of pics but the best is the look on Greyson’s face

After the kids left – Nana and Pop needed some rest so off to the brewery for a flight we went. The beers were very good

Our last day at Singer we met our friend, Jose, for a round of golf at his community, Marisol. It is a gorgeous community and fantastic golf course. The undulated greens are diabolical. It’s a Fazio design. Tough golf but I did get one par on #2 which made my day. I was on the green in 3 and sunk a 20 foot putt.

My amazing seafood Louie salad in the Mirasol grill.

Now we’re headed to The Embassy in Palm Beach Gardens so Alex can join the Formy Irish Open golf tournament with his buddies from NJ. Leg 4 of our Florida adventure begins.
