Retired about a week better get packing

I’m enjoying having my own schedule. Had an adventure with hubby in NYC, met some friends, took my aunt and mom to lunch, cleaned some closets and my house looks neater than normal. I’m settling into retirement well. I guess I should start thinking about packing. I usually pack the night before or morning of a trip but packing for 50 days is a bit overwhelming especially since I’m allowed one checked bag of 66 pounds and a roller board of 22 pounds. We have a regional flight in Australia so can’t overpack. I welcome your thoughts on things I must pack!

One picture from our NYC adventure Hudson Yards Vessel. Alex went to the top but my knee was bothering me so i only went partway up.

  1. Hi Kim,
One thought: pack for maximum allowance for the cruise, as you don’t need to move. Take an extra duffel bag, so you can store the extra staff in it, and store it at Sydney airport (please do check the storage options ahead) before you board on the Australia regional flight.

  2. I’m so excited for the both of you!! And can’t wait to ‘join’ you on your journey! Have a fabulous time!

  3. It’s an interesting idea but I think most airports did away with lockers and storage because of security concerns. I’ll check and see if it’s an option but I’m not thinking it will be.

  4. So exciting! Can’t wait to see all the pics and hear about the adventures. In regards to packing it seems we all pack more than we ever use. I try to stay with color themes like black white and tan or blue white and grey so I can mix and match. It’s when I want to wear lots of colors that I need more shoes, jewelry and accessories. Keep it simple and wash when you can. I also like to take plastic bags to keep my dirty laundry separate from my clean clothes.

  5. Yeah I’m trying to stick with mostly black and white but have to bring some navy too. I bought a few formal tops that I can dress down for dinner too. I normally pack the night before but already have some things out on spare room bed. Lol.
